Pastor Whittington’s ministry began in 1966 and his preaching ministry spans almost fifty years of service. He has served in various capacities across Oklahoma, Arkansas and Mississippi. In the summer of 1994, he was elected pastor of Pershing UPC, succeeding his father. Pastor Whittington’s passion is for souls and spreading the gospel. Last year, Pastor & First Lady celebrated their 20th Pastoral Anniversary at Pershing UPC.
Pastor Whittington and his wife, Regina, have two children Taryn and Heather, two wonderful grand children, Cameron and Autumn, and most recently a healthy great-grand baby, Aden.
Assistant to the Pastor
Paul’s preaching ministry spans for more than 51 years. He has evangelized and assisted in several churches across the state of Arkansas. Paul and his family joined Pershing UPC in 1973 and has been assisting for more than 40 years.
Paul and his wife, Becky, have two sons and two daughters, along with 13 grandchildren and 4 great grand children.
Assistant to the Pastor
David Culberson attended Gateway College of Evangelism in Florissant, MO where he majored in Biblical Studies. In 2008, he and his wife, Kayla, moved back to David’s home state of Arkansas. They started attending Pershing UPC in North Little Rock and quickly helped to pioneer a college ministry called CLife. Four years later they stepped into youth ministry as youth pastors at Pershing. They served as youth ministers for two years. Currently, David is serving as an Associate Minister to the Pastor and as the College and Career Pastor. He and Kayla have two daughters, Micalah and Anna.
Michael & Hannah Cena
Michael and Hannah currently serve as the youth pastors, as well as worship leaders at Pershing UPC. Michael graduated from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock with a B.S. in Information Science in 2010 by which he also serves as Pershing’s webmaster. In his spare time, he enjoys playing guitar, traveling, and is known for his love for good food. Hannah is currently pursuing a degree in Early Childhood Education at Pulaski Technical College. She loves spending quality time with family and friends, looking through Pinterest, and painting in her spare time.
In February 2016, they joyfully welcomed their first child, Isaiah Durant. Together, they are passionate about deepening relationships with God and connecting students and people to God through worship and His Word.
Kayla attended Gateway College of Evangelism in Florissant, Missouri, where she studied music, and Biblical Studies. In 2008, she and her husband, David, moved to the Little Rock area and began helping with the college & youth ministries at Pershing. David and Kayla both served as youth pastors for two years. They have two daughters, Micalah and Anna. Currently, Kayla serves as our worship and music director.
