What To Expect

People who raise their hands in the air.
“Because Your loving kindness is better than life, My lips shall praise You. Thus I will bless You while I live; I will lift up my hands in Your name.” (Psalm 63:3-4)

People who pray aloud.
“I cry out to the Lord with my voice, With my voice to the Lord I make my supplication.” (Psalm 142:1)

Lots of singing.
Oh, sing to the Lord a new song! Sing to the Lord, all the Earth. Sing to the Lord, bless His name; Proclaim the good news of His salvation from day to day.” (Psalm 96:1-2)

Clapping of hands.
“Oh, clap your hands, all you peoples! Shout to God with the voice of triumph!” (Psalm 47:1)

People who speak in other tongues
“And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.” (Acts 2:4)
“Therefore, brethren, desire earnestly to prophesy, and do not forbid to speak with tongues. Let all things be done decently and in order.” (I Corinthians 14:39-40)

Anointing of the sick with oil.
“Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.” (James 5:14-15)
